My Minimal Home Setup — Why I Keep It Simple
I am not a dedicated minimalist with a philosophy about it. I just do not like being surrounded by too much stuff. It gets overwhelming. So over time I kept removing things until the space felt easy to be in.
That is really the whole story.

The Colours
Most of the apartment sits in earth tones. Creams, beiges, warm browns. But the living room and hallway have a soft, warm yellow that adds a bit of life without being loud. It works well with the natural light and keeps the space feeling open rather than flat.
The bedroom has dark curtains purely for blocking light and heat. Practical decision, not an aesthetic one.
Plants
Three leafy plants and one cactus. They are low maintenance and make any room feel less empty. I water them when they need it and that is about it. Green just works.
The Salt Lamp
I have a pink Himalayan salt lamp and it is genuinely one of the better additions to the apartment. The glow it gives off in the evening is warm and soft, much better than harsh overhead lighting. It looks good and it actually changes the atmosphere of the room.
Why I Stopped Burning Candles
Candles look beautiful but most of them release chemicals and synthetic fragrance when burned. Once I found that out I stopped. The salt lamp does a similar job visually without any of that. If you want to keep candles, beeswax or natural soy options are a better choice.
What Is Actually in the Space
An L-shaped sofa. A few plants. The salt lamp. Some soft toys and objects that actually mean something. That is about it. Nothing decorative just for the sake of filling space.
Less to look at means less to think about. That is the whole point.
My Favourite Time at Home
I am not a 5am person. 8am is early enough. But that first hour in the morning, before the day starts and before the city gets loud, is genuinely my favourite time at home. Coffee, the sofa, nothing scheduled yet. The apartment feels different at that hour. Quieter. More yours.
I am also a night person. Late evenings have their own kind of calm. The salt lamp on, the city noise fading, no more obligations for the day. Both ends of the day are good for different reasons.
Keep what you like. Remove the rest.
